Working with a Victorian plate camera, Anna Lilleengen explores myth and fairytale in the wild and elemental Scandinavian forests.
The images are taken onto negatives that are handcut from light sensitive paper and processed in a temporary studio in the forest, before being printed by hand according to traditional darkroom techniques once she is back to civilisation.
The images are haunting and evocative and pose the question of what happens when one is presented with the wild and untamed - both in nature and within oneself.
