Over the past term, Photography and Graphic Design students have been working on a social commentary project inspired by a visit to the William Hogarth exhibition at the Whitworth.
That work is now going to be exhibited in the main area of the gallery, and will consist of prints, projections and animations. Seven works have been selected to be printed and displayed alongside the Hogarth exhibition until its completion in August.
On Thursday 25 April, the students will be hosting their pop up exhibition in the gallery, and will also be joined by Twitter phenomenon @coldwar_steve. Described as a 'modern-day Hogarth', he has been a source of inspiration for this project, and he will be doing a live demo of how he creates his signature digital collages. Here is some information on the wider exhibition.
This will be a public event, head along at 4pm on Thursday 25 April. Please feel free to pass on this invite to anyone who may be interested, there is no ticket required and it's a free event.
