Photo Forum this month plays host to Jordi Ruiz Cirera and Laura Pannack, two photographers whose works have been garnering attention far and wide. Both photographers will be speaking about their work and discussing their experiences building a relationship with often camera-shy subjects.
After graduating with a distinction from LCC for his long term project about the Mennonite communities in Bolivia, Spanish born documentary photographer, Jordi Ruiz Cirera has since gone on to be awarded, and shortlisted in, several international competitions, including the DB Award for Photography, the AOP Student Photographer of the Year, the POYi, the Lucie Awards, and very recently the Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize. Jordie will be sharing the stories behind his images with Photo-Forum.
Laura Pannack is a London based Photographer. In her own words, she does all she can “to understand the lives of those captured, and to present them creatively”. She is a firm believer that “time, trust and understanding is the key to portraying subjects truthfully” Laura will be speaking about projects past and present and sharing insights into her remarkable ability to build trust and respect with her subjects.
