As part of this year's Brighton Digital Festival Photoworks have invited Mishka Henner to select eight photographs he'd take with him to a desert island. Desert Island Pics will see Henner reveal his choices and discuss how they reflect his life and career.
Mishka Henner has been described as a modern-day Duchamp for his appropriation of image-rich technologies including Google Earth, YouTube and Taaz. Trained as a documentary photographer, Henner is seen as a trail-blazer in a movement of photographers without cameras - having replaced shutter pressing with an interest in images, but not necessarily in making images. He was nominated for the 2013 Deutsche Börse Photography Prize for No Man’s Land a survey of prostitution sites in Spain and Italy made using images found on Google Street View.
This event takes place at Jurys Inn Brighton, next to Brighton Station.
