This solo exhibition by Anton Want offers an open narrative on the subject of change against the backdrop of an evolving town centre landscape. Since 2014 artist Anton Want has made photographs relating to the ongoing major redevelopment and social change within Barnsley Town Centre. The exhibition features new large-scale transitional landscapes and detail alongside intimate portraiture works, exploring the nature of societal and structural developments and the relationship between people, place and the built environment. The exhibition examines the idea of 'the universal in the local' and touches on themes relevant to towns and cities across the UK, including that of reinvention over time and identity tied to place. Supported by Arts Council England & Barnsley Museums
