The University of Salford Art Collection presents Craig Easton: Is Anybody Listening? a touring exhibition at galleries across the Northwest. Craig Easton: Is Anybody Listening? is supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, showcasing two award-winning series of photographs, alongside an engagement programme for young people called Our Time, Our Place.

A long-time advocate for authentically representing communities in the North, Easton’s exhibition seeks to challenge stereotypes and raise aspirations of young people within the region.

Craig Easton: Is Anybody Listening? is touring across four locations, Salford, Blackpool, Liverpool and Birkenhead.  The engagement programme, Our Time, Our Place, which also includes Blackburn, aims to empower young people to discuss current issues, explore their own history, and share it through pathways in photography and associated practices.

The touring exhibition has already been hosted at Open Eye Gallery (12 Jan – 26 Feb 2023) and LeftCoast at Blackpool School of Arts (11 Apr – 31 May 2023), it will now be exhibited at University of Salford Art Collection at New Adelphi (11 Sept – 22 Dec 2023) and Williamson Art Gallery and Museum (25 Jan – 30 March 2024).

The Williamson Art Gallery and Museum hosted a symposium event on 29 February 2024, find out more on our events page here.

Is Anybody Listening? A tour and Photo Ethics Discussion
Thursday, 7 March 2024
Award-winning photographer Craig Easton and socially-engaged practitioner and educator Liz Wewiora offered an informal tour of Is Anybody Listening? and Our Time Our Place, and an open discussion around Photo Ethics, at the Williamson Art Gallery this March.
Williamson Art Gallery hosts the last leg of Craig's touring exhibitions Bank Top and Thatcher's Children as well as a culmination of the engagement programme Our Time, Our Place. The socially engaged programmed featured work by local Wirral young people who worked with photographer Suzanne St Clare to explore what ideas around people and place means to them as well as a group exhibition of work by the next generation of photographic talent through a mentoring scheme between Craig and young photographers across the region.
Is Anybody Listening? Our Time, Our Place is presented by University of Salford Art Collection and generously supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Special thanks go to National Lottery players.
