Foam and Toneelgroep Amsterdam present 'inbetweens', an exhibition by Jan Versweyveld.

Since 2001 Versweyveld has worked as scenographer, and since 2005 as house photographer, of The Netherlands’ biggest theatre repertoire company, Toneelgroep Amsterdam. The exhibition at Foam is part of Toneelgroep Amsterdam’s 25th anniversary year.

Versweyveld has selected work that differs from the usual stage photography. His unique double role as scenographer and chronicler of Toneelgroep Amsterdam gets, for the first time in his career, all the attention. His unique access allows him to lay bare the art of scenography by photographing from a position that the audience could never have, or by capturing more unguarded moments, such as before and after rehearsal.
