Running from October 2014 to April 2015, at the Manchester Central Library, this series of workshops is aimed at any photographer or artist who is considering, or has recently started, working professionally, selling their work, collaborating with others, or who wants their work to be seen more widely and taken more seriously. They look in detail at the key business and professional requirements of practising photographers.

MMU's Institute of Humanities and Social Science Research proudly present an exclusive exhibition of photography and community art as part of the "Encountering Corpses" symposium.

The exhibition will be comprised of three interleaved elements, all of which evoke themes of death, contemplation and empathy.

The Manchester School of Art Degree Show 2013 takes place on the Manchester Metropolitan University's All Saints Campus, off Oxford Road. BA Photography is in the Chatham and Link Galleries.

This new display of around 30 photographs explores just some of the different ways contemporary artists have used photography in their work.

Taken from the 1980s onward, the photographs explore the body, reinvent still-life, examine our cultural identities and explore the places where we live, work and spend our leisure time.

The display features work by influential photographer Keith Arnatt, famous British artist Helen Chadwick, Turner Prize nominee Catherine Yass and Young British Artists such as Sarah Lucas and Jane and Louise Wilson.

In this Olympic year, Gallery Oldham celebrate local sporting achievements.

Photographer Ian Beesley’s specially commissioned images capture past and present local stars. Objects on display include trophies, the crash helmet worn by 1930s speedway star Clem Beckett and one of the original turnstiles from Boundary Park. You can also see the results of a competition amongst local school children to design a new Olympic Torch.

The Degree Show celebrates the achievements and talents of final year students at Manchester School of Art.

The show is open to the public and will take place between 16 and 20 June 2012. It is held at Manchester Metropolitan University's All Saints Campus and at Quay House, Quay Street, Spinningfields in Manchester city centre. All venue details are available on their website.

Shadow Land is a major exhibition of work by internationally-acclaimed photographer Roger Ballen whose work offers a powerful social critique and an extreme, uncanny beauty. The exhibition explores three decades of Ballen’s career, charting the evolution of his unique photographic style and demonstrating the contribution he has made to contemporary photography.
