Photoworks seeks co-ordinator

Photoworks, Brighton is recruiting for a full-time fixed-term role (7 months) to work closely with the Director and Programme Team to develop and deliver the Brighton Photo Biennial in October 2012. The successful applicant will play an integral role in the development of a programme of activities to encourage participation and engagement.

Foto8 Summershow

With no set theme photographers are invited to submit recent work, of any subject, style or genre, which engages or challenges the viewer, either to convey stories, raise questions or provoke feeling.

The successful images hang floor to ceiling in Foto8 Gallery for a six-week period over the summer, giving the audience the opportunity to pick a personal favourite, which in turn may stand a chance of winning the coveted People’s Choice award – and some professional photographic kit.

North East Photography Network commission in partnership with Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival

NE Photography Network are delighted to announce a new commission opportunity in partnership with Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival, to be presented as part of the Festival programme, 19th – 23rd September 2012.

They are inviting proposals from all over the world, from artists who are working across moving image and photography, or who have moved from one practice to the other, while the new commission will explore the overlapping terrains of moving and still images.

MA in Photography, Cumbria

The University of Cumbria is now recruiting for its specialist MA in Photography, a one year course for self-motivated individuals who wish to both explore critical thought within contemporary photography and further to develop their own practice.

It is expected that applicants will have at least a good basic knowledge of photography and interview criteria will include the presentation of a portfolio of work.

It's taught by Dr John Darwell, Dr Sarah Bonner and Dr Katrin Joost with additional input from Mike England, Rob Sara and an ongoing programme of visiting lecturers.
